1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms govern your use of the iHandyApp mobile app and website, operated by iHandyApp Technology Ltd ("iHandyApp", "we", "us"), a company based in Lagos, Nigeria. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use iHandyApp.

2. What iHandyApp is

iHandyApp is a marketplace that connects customers with independent local service providers (for home and trade services) and independent food vendors, in one app. iHandyApp is not itself a service provider, tradesperson, or restaurant, and we don't employ the people and businesses on the platform. We provide the platform, the protected-payment system, verification checks, and support. The actual job or order is between the customer and the provider or vendor.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be old enough to legally enter into a contract in your jurisdiction to create an account.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, and for keeping your login details secure.
  • One account per person. A business account for a food vendor or service provider must be held by someone authorized to act for that business.

4. If you're a provider or vendor

  • You'll be asked to verify your identity (ID and a selfie) and, for a food vendor, your business details, before you can accept jobs or go live with a store.
  • You're responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of the work you do or the food you sell. iHandyApp checks identity and facilitates payment; it doesn't inspect your workmanship or your kitchen.
  • You agree to honor a quote or order you've accepted, and to use the in-app chat for anything related to the job or order, rather than moving the conversation off-platform before payment is protected.
  • Payouts are made against your verified bank account, minus the marketplace fee disclosed in the app at checkout.

5. If you're a customer

  • You agree to pay for a job or order you've accepted, through the app's protected-payment flow.
  • You agree to give accurate details about the job or delivery location, and to respond in chat so the provider or vendor can actually do the work.
  • Confirming a job or order as complete releases the held payment to the provider or vendor, so only confirm once you're satisfied, or raise it through the dispute process first.

6. Payments and protected funds

Payments are processed through Paystack. When you pay for a job or order, the funds are held in a protected status rather than paid out immediately. They're released to the provider or vendor once the job is marked complete (by you, or automatically under our completion rules), or settled through the dispute process if something goes wrong. iHandyApp takes a marketplace fee out of the payment, shown to you before you pay.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Specific cancellation windows and refund rules are set out in our Refunds & Cancellations policy, which forms part of these terms. In general: a job or order can usually be cancelled free of charge before a provider or vendor accepts it; once accepted and paid for, cancellation is handled case by case, and a dispute can be raised in-app if something's gone wrong.

8. Rules of the platform

To keep iHandyApp safe and fair, you agree not to:

  • Share phone numbers or other direct contact details in chat before payment is protected, or otherwise try to take a job or order off the platform to avoid our fees or protections.
  • Use the app for anything illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user.
  • Post a review or rating that's fake, or that includes someone's personal contact details.
  • Try to interfere with the app's security or normal operation.

We may review and act on reports of this kind of behavior, including through the in-app safety and dispute tools.

9. Reviews and ratings

Reviews should reflect a genuine experience with a provider or vendor. We don't allow a review to contain contact details, and we may remove a review that violates these terms.

10. Disputes

If something goes wrong with a job or order, use the in-app "Report a problem" or dispute flow first. Our team reviews the evidence from both sides and decides an outcome: release of payment to the provider or vendor, a partial settlement, a full refund, or dismissal of the complaint. The ledger is adjusted to match.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

iHandyApp is a platform connecting independent customers, providers, and vendors; we are not a party to the underlying service or sale between them. To the fullest extent permitted by law, iHandyApp is provided "as is," and we disclaim warranties about the conduct, quality, or reliability of any provider, vendor, or customer. Where we are found liable for something arising from your use of the app, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the transaction giving rise to the claim, except where the law doesn't allow that limitation (for example, in cases of fraud or willful misconduct).

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using iHandyApp and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, is involved in fraud, or puts other users at risk, and we'll tell you why where we're able to.

13. Intellectual property

The iHandyApp name, logo, and app are owned by iHandyApp Technology Ltd. You keep ownership of content you post (like review text or job photos), but you give us the right to use it to operate and improve the platform, such as showing your review to other customers.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute not resolved through our in-app process is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. We'll update the date at the top, and tell you directly about any significant change.
